A retired clinical psychologist with nearly five decades of experience, Dr. Melvin Rabin managed a private practice in Needham, Massachusetts, where he utilized various therapeutic modalities to help people manage a range of psychosocial problems. He is particularly versed in Gestalt therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), hypnotherapy, couples counseling, and family therapy. Dr. Melvin Rabin also provided senior executive coaching services.
Beyond treating patients in private practice, Dr. Melvin Rabin lectured and taught courses at Harvard, Boston College, and Suffolk University, among other academic institutions. He also lectured at hospitals, including Salem Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Complementing his extensive clinical psychology experience, Dr. Rabin is an EMDR-certified practitioner and holds additional certificates from the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland and the American Institute for Counseling and Psychotherapy. He is also a recognized expert witness in PTSD and received a doctor of education in psychology from Boston University. In retirement, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, swimming, and playing golf.
